|Dear Community Partners, Donors and Volunteers of Green Fork Academy:As the Board of Directors of Green Fork Academy, we are reaching out to all of our valued community partners now that we have an opportunity to review our current circumstances.Upon receiving and accepting the resignation of Executive Director Jilah Kalil on June 24th effective July 31st, we spent the subsequent months fulfilling our summer camp commitments while also exploring a number of options, including possible formal partnerships as well as other short-term and long-term staffing alternatives.
Regrettably, we have determined that our current personnel and programing options do not represent a sustainable path for Green Fork Academy to continue to exist. At its September meeting, the Board of Directors voted to dissolve the non-profit corporation. As we pursue dissolution of Green Fork Academy with the advice of legal counsel, we will be determining how best to allocate our funds and inventory; in that process, we expect to give strong consideration to the non-profit organizations in which we have taken such pride and satisfaction from serving.
In the wake of this difficult, yet, we feel, responsible and necessary decision, we offer our thanks to Jilah for her vision and dedicated service. We also extend our most sincere gratitude to you for your generosity, enthusiasm, and support of Green Fork Academy’s important work these past three years. We are confident that the skills and knowledge passed along from our extraordinary culinary educators to our participants of all ages will enjoy a lasting and exponential effect throughout our community. Thank you again for helping make such a difference in the lives of so many.
